Faults, Wear & Tear and Inspection
Ride-on toys, scooters, go-karts and similar products contain moving, electrical and mechanical components which naturally experience wear through use.
Normal deterioration of components through use is not in itself a manufacturing fault.
Where an issue is reported, we will normally request photographs, video and troubleshooting information before arranging a return. In many cases, an issue can be diagnosed and resolved without transporting the complete product.
Where an inspection is necessary, we may require the product to be returned to us so that our technicians can determine the cause of the issue.
If inspection confirms a fault for which Funstuff is responsible under applicable consumer law, we will provide the appropriate remedy and cover the applicable return or collection costs.
If inspection determines that the issue is the result of normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, water damage, improper storage or another cause for which Funstuff is not responsible, reasonable charges may apply for:
-
Inspection or repair
-
Replacement parts
-
Collection
-
Return delivery
We will advise you of any charge before carrying out a chargeable repair.
Packaging Products for Return
All products being returned by courier must be safely and securely packaged for transport.
The original box is not required unless specifically stated.
You do not need to purchase a purpose-made box. Suitable cardboard and other protective packaging may be used, provided the product is fully protected and can be safely handled and transported by the courier.
For larger products, we may ask you to remove or leave out accessories, trailers or other detachable components where they are not required for inspection.
We may request a photograph of the packaged product before booking a courier collection.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that products are suitably packaged and protected before collection. Funstuff does not undertake to provide replacement packaging for products that have been used or where the original packaging has been discarded.
A courier may refuse to collect an item that is not adequately packaged.
Water Damage
Products such as ride-on toys and electric scooters should be stored in a dry, sheltered environment and protected from rain and standing water.
Water damage is not covered by our commercial warranty where the issue results from environmental exposure, improper storage or use in unsuitable conditions rather than a manufacturing fault.
Where possible, we may still be able to repair a water-damaged product.
Replacement parts, labour and transport may be chargeable. We will advise you of any charges before proceeding with a chargeable repair.
Unwanted Returns
If you change your mind about an online purchase, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where applicable, your statutory cancellation rights for online purchases will apply.
For unwanted returns accepted outside your statutory cancellation rights, products must normally be:
-
Unused
-
Unassembled
-
Complete
-
In their original packaging
-
In a condition suitable for resale
Where the customer is responsible for returning an unwanted product, the cost of returning the item is the customer's responsibility.
This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Return & Collection Costs
Where you are responsible for the cost of returning an item, you may arrange the return yourself or, where available, ask us to arrange a courier collection.
Our standard collection charges are:
-
Small and medium items: €16
-
Oversized items: €55
Products must be appropriately packaged and ready for collection before a courier can be booked.
These collection charges do not apply where Funstuff is legally responsible for the cost of taking back faulty goods. In those circumstances, we will arrange or cover the appropriate return or collection cost.
Condition of Returned Products
Please accurately describe the condition and usage of any product when submitting a return or warranty request.
We may request photographs or videos showing the overall condition of the product before authorising a return.
Where an unwanted product is described as unused but is subsequently found to have been assembled or used, this may affect the refund available where permitted by law.
Returned products must be appropriately packaged and protected against damage during transport.
Repairs
Many issues with ride-on toys and similar products can be resolved by identifying and replacing an individual component rather than returning or replacing the complete product.
Our After Service team will therefore normally attempt to diagnose the issue remotely before arranging a return.
Where a product needs to be returned for repair or inspection, most issues are resolved within approximately 8–10 working days after we receive the product.
During particularly busy periods, including Christmas, repairs may take up to approximately 20 working days.
We will endeavour to keep you informed if there is a significant delay.
If a Product Cannot Be Repaired
Where a product has a fault for which Funstuff is responsible and repair is not possible or appropriate, we will provide the remedy applicable to the circumstances.
Depending on the circumstances and your applicable consumer rights, this may include:
-
Replacement
-
Refund
-
Price reduction
-
Store credit, where agreed with you
Where a replacement is appropriate but the same product is no longer available, we may offer a suitable alternative of similar specification and value.
Important Information About Statutory Rights
